Hi Pat,
Under normal circumstances, a departing SC turns the XXGenWeb keys
over to the ASC. ART XII, Sections 1 and 10 of the USGenWeb bylaws
specify that chain of command. Am I correct in assuming that your
ASC is AWOL? If so, you could appoint a new ASC if need be.
ART XII, Sec 8 of the USGenWeb bylaws DO require an election
though. The ASC can act as interim SC until the election is
completed.
Since I see only twelve CCs listed on the NV counties page, it
would not take much effort to establish a simple set of NVGenWeb
election procedures. Even if you had a separate CC for every
county, it would still be a simple deal. A committee could get
this done in a week.
As for having any AB members actually run a NV election, I believe
that action would be a conflict of interest on their part -
national politicos should not have their hands in state elections.
If Bettie Wood persists in her efforts to run our NVGenWeb
election, I will be forced to file a grievance with the USGWP.
On a NVGenWeb level, a grievance would bog down the transition of
authority and I am sure that no one here wants that. So I offer my
assistance in assembling a simple set of election procedures for
NVGenWeb.
