I am looking for info on my CHEGWIDDEN, MOORE and HOSKEN families who lived in Virgina City and Gold hill about 1865-1900, when they moved to Nevada City CA.
Richard Chegwidden and wife Eliza and their 7 children came from St. Day, Cornwall.
James A. Moore married one of the Chegwidden daughters, Mary Jane there in 1880, the same year he became a citizen.
Eliza Chegwidden's family name was Hosken. I believe some of her family came with them to the US.
Is anybody else reearching this family?
Mary Jane Chegwidden Moore was my great grandmother.
