Place of birth: Jackson County, Georgia
For whom Storey County is named.
Father was Col. John Storey.
Enlisted in Texas Rangers in 1846.
Married Adelia Calhoun Johnson of Lockhart, Caldwell County, Texas in 1849. His wife died in 1852 after giving
birth to a daughter.
Captain Storey was ambushed by an indian during the Pyramid Lake Indian War in 1860, while leading a group of riflemen
to avenge Major Ormsby's defeat.
