Seek info on Leonidas Metcalfe Peyton, a.k.a Alonzo or Lorenzo Peyton,
who left his children in Iowa and Wisconsin in 1877 after the death of
their mother, Elizabeth Caroline "Lizzie" Cassell. Family legend says he
went to the Washoe Mountains and became a prospector. He appears to have
had run-ins with the law that led to his swift departure, probably in the
early 1890s. By that time he may have been accompanied by his son Ralph.

Both are related to the Peytons who gave rise to the town of Peyton, Colorado.
