Hi,
I was born in 1942 on Kensington and Poultney. I well remember the ragman
and his horse as I was a horse fanatic and still own several. We also had a
man who pushed a peanut and popcorn making wagon and would stand at
Northumberland and Kensington and sell his products. Sometimes another
quaint character would arrive and that was the organ grinder. He would stop
on Poultney at the corner of Kensington and our neighbor Mrs. Pohl would
give him dinner.
My old dog Spike got himself in the dog pound for chasing the ragman's
horse. What great memories and I regret our children won't have them.
