Joyce,
For over 3 years I have been using (among others) www.ancestry.com. It is a paid site but they have extensive Federal Census including New York State. That is where I found many dozen census records for may 3 main branches and all the sub-branches. It enabled me to put my family together and solve many problems. But do remember, many dates are not all accurate. You need to consider them as approximate dates. Many factors cause this problem. When you find an address, you can go to www.mapquest.com and see the map of that part of the city.
Happy Hunting,
Jan A.

Subject: [NY CAN] Good sites in northern New York
Good afternoon:
I am new to the list and doing research in New York State. I am hoping some
of you who are seasoned in the area, will be able to tell me where I might
find some outstanding sites to search. I am looking for the Castle family in
Carmel, Niagara, Onondaga, and other northern counties that is available on
line. I tried doing a google search and I found some, but I am hoping other
researchers know others available. Any suggestions will be appreciated.
Researching Castle and allied families
