Hello ...

I am researching Patrick LAGAN, b. 1816, "near Cookstown", Co. Tyrone,
IRE; immigrated 1840 to NYC. Occupation, grocer, @ 17 Anthony Street in
1843 - 46. Married Catherine TONER 1849 (in NYC?). Patrick returned
several times to No. Ireland during the famine years ... evidence points to
his route being Liverpool to NYC on each occasion.

Patrick and Catherine each purchased land in Wisconsin in 1848-1850. Moved
west to Elba, Dodge Co., WI about 1850. Children: Christopher (1851),
Sarah (1853), Hugh (1854), John (1855), Amelia (1856), Emily (1857), and
Mary (1863). Moved in 1856 to Crawford Co., WI. Farmed large acreage
until 1877, when he moved to Prairie du Chien, WI. Died 1913. Catholic
family.

Wanting to make contact with anyone else who may have knowledge of this
family or may be researching the LAGAN surname in NYC.
