You can also check with Jim Herlihy who is based at the Blarney Garda
Station, Blarney, Co. Cork, Ireland. He has collected most of the records,
if not all and put out several books. If you give him the name and the birth
date and if you have the number, he can check and see if he has access to
the records that you want. If so, for a moderate fee, he will send you a
copy of their records. I ordered my g grandfather's and it is interesting
to see where they were stationed, what commendations, etc. My g grandfather
was #41768. Mine even told what occupation he had been trained for, that of
shoemaker before becoming a member of the RIC.
