Pat: thanks for the advice about getting the Naturalization papers. You were
also correct when you said that the papers in 1890 didn't have much info. I
believe John MCWILLIAM's Declaration of Intent is also included and dated
1888 but not sure. It wasn't an application, just a signed statement along
with his Naturalization signed form. They both lacked the tie I am
searching for. Where would be the next best area to search? Do I start on
the ships around the 1840-50 time frame? I'm not sure where he departed from
or if he really landed in New York at Castle Garden? I'm so close yet soooo
far.
