JimB:
Is the archivist still in operation? If so, where can I get in touch? We recently conducted a stone by stone search in St. Joseph's cemtery along with a search by my cousin, Jeanne Daley, of the cemetery records at St. Joseph's Parish for records of our family. We still cannot find a burial record of my Grandfather, Michael Minahan, who passed away sometime in the '20's. I think.
Any assistance would be helpful.
Best regards,

Pat, I see some interesting parallels in my own experience. My mother and her
two siblings were raised in St. Joseph's Home after my grandmother, Elizabeth
DINEEN, died in 1903. Timothy and Elizabeth DINEEN were admitted on 13
January 1906. My mother, Nora DINEEN, was admitted on 16 July 1907.
Sister Francis Marie, Archivist/Records Manager, at St. Joseph's Home has
provided me with several photographs of my mother and her siblings while they
were there. Most impressive is a group photo that was taken in 1931 when
Timothy DINEEN, now a Jesuit priest returned to St. Joseph's Home and
celebrated his first Mass there. It has been an exciting enterprise to
identify the proud family members who were present. Sister Francis Marie has
also proved me with a summary of correspondence relating to my mother and
siblings.
Hope this is useful. Jim B.
