Subject: [NY IRISH] Pittstown census

The 1880 Federal census for Pittstown is not on line. If you already
visited it, you may have seen that the wrong names were in the first
table. Should have started with Abbott but instead, started with
Brother. That has now been fixed. Please note that your surname may
not be spelled correctly in the tables, that is because either the
enumerator spelled it wrong or he wrote badly and we misspelled it.
Either way, you need to look up all spelling for your ancestors. Mine
is very often spelled Conners so if I just looked up Connors, I would
miss my family.

This is the Rensselaer County website where the census is located, also
the Lansingburgh, Petersburgh and Schaghticoke 1880 censuses can be
found at this site. I have changed the home page a bit over the weekend
and you will see at the top of the page are navigation bars. You will
find the link to Pittstown under the Towns button.
The 1880 Troy census is located at the url under my name. At the top of
the home page, under New York State, you will find a link for Troy.
Eventually I will move these to the Rensselaer site where I also plan
to put the Troy 1900 census which start going on line in about two weeks.
