Hello,
I've got much to learn about genealogy.
What I've read from this list and the accomplishments some have made, amazes
me.
I've been trying to find an obituary for my grandmother, Mary Gogerty- nee
Casey, wife of James Gogerty, for some time.
My own Mom is gone now, but from what I remember her telling me, Grandmother
died mid 1920s.
I went to the same church and cemetery where Grandfather was interred and
found nothing concerning her.
She did die many years before he did.
I would be most grateful if someone could point me in the right direction,
as to where I could go from there.
Thank you, Jean Foster

Jean,

Did you find them in the 1920 census? If she's listed in the 1920, chances
are she died from that address. Did you request a death certificate from the
state asking for a block of years to be searched? If she lived in New York
City, you would have contact the Municipal Archives in lower Manhattan.

Keep in mind not all deaths have obituaries. The family made not have been
able to afford it.
