Looking for additional information as to where in County Longford John came
from. Where in New York John was married. Where his first daughter Mary,
born January 29, 1833 was baptised (all the rest of John's children were
baptised at St. Paul's in Brooklyn). Below is what I have on John.
Per "History of LaSalle County" (IL) page 734-5:
John came to America in 1828 and located near Brooklyn (New York). His
brother James joined him in 1839.
He joined his brother James (who had relocated in 1849) in Wallace
Township, LaSalle County, Illinois sometime between 1850 & 1860 (he was not
in the 1850 Census, but was in the 1860 Census for LaSalle County, IL).
---------
1840, NY, Kings County, Brooklyn, page 732 John Begley, as head of house
hold, 1 male between 20-30, 1 male 30-40, possibly James and John, 1 female
under 5, 1 female 5-10, 1 female 20-30. That's all the 1840 Census will
show.
---------
1840-41 Brooklyn, NY Directory - BAGLEY, John, Carll n Tillary (don't know
for certain that this is our John, although he was the only one listed in
Brooklyn for this directory).
per: http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~blkyn/Bklyn.Info.Page.html
---------

Also the 1858 + 1859 LaSalle County Directory shows the following - Dayton
Twp. (remember no Wallace Twp. yet) :
Bagley, John - Farmer
--------
I assume that this 1860 Census Index pg. 6 is for Wallace Twp. (whoever made
the copy did not note it and it was not printed at the top of the page as
most of the others have been), since that was where we know that James was
in the 1870 Census Index, pg 6:
Household 76-78

Ann 49 F IR
Catherine 18 F NY
John 14 M NY

The 1870 LaSalle Co., IL census published by the LaSalle Co. Gen. Guild,
