Your post to the list doesn't say how far back you followed him in the
censuses...which is what I would try to do first if I were you. Try
finding him in 1880 (on line, free, at LDS website). Then there are the
1870, 1860 and 1850 censues that give all the family members. All are
indexed in various for pay websites like Ancestry, Genealogy and
Heritage Quest. Ancestry is on most public library computers and the
LDS family history centers.
