The following is information on a marriage certificate of Jane Vosser
and Augustus Le Faux. They were married in Jersey City, New Jersey. We
have some questions about this information that we hope someone can help
us with.
Thank you,
Rosemary from beautiful Cape Breton, Nova Scotia

1. Why is Jane written Janea....twice?
2. How can we find out if the Rev. A. Potter was a priest or a minister
or ???????
3. The witness to the second part is Jane Potter the same name as the
Rev. who married them....could this be a wife??? secretary??? Is there
any way of finding out???

Feb. 3, 1870 marriage of Agusutus LaFolks and Janea Vosser.
Both list their residence as 112 Elizabeth St.
Attested by the Rev. A. Potter. (Wonder if he's a priest or a protestant
reverend)
Witnessed by H.W. Walgrove and Mary Queen.
On page 2 of the return, Agusutus is known only as Fold and not La
anything. He's 26, born in France (although it's spelled Frace!. The
handwriting is very shaky, as if a VERY old person recorded it, with
many spelling errors). and he's a sailor.
His parents were Agustus and Mary.
The Bride was Janea Vosser, 17 years old. Father was John Vosser,
mother was Sarah. This part of the return was witnessed by Mary Queen
and Jane Potter.
