Hi Ann,
If nothing else make sure that you pack some sweaters and a good rain coat
or poncho. I bought a golfers rain jacket that folds up and zips into itself
and can be carried in your purse. It's a MUST in Ireland.
Another suggestion is to stay in B&B's as an alternative to hotels. The
first time we stayed in one, in 2002, we were with friends and got there at 10
o'clock at night with no reservations. (It's a looong story). Anyway, the
woman who owned the B&B was so nice and just happened to have two rooms
available. Every morning we had whatever we wanted for breakfast, even a full Irish
breakfast if that was your wish. When we checked out three days later we
were shocked to find out that the rate per day including that wonderful
breakfast was only about $65 per couple. What a bargain and we had met some lovely
people who were staying there as well. Now when we go into a town we look
for the tourist office and ask them for suggestions as to which B&B's are a
good choice. It works every time.
Have a great vacation.
Pat

Afternoon Listers, I am planning a trip with my brother and his wife for the
last two weeks of October. Would appreciate any ideas for must see areas,
B & B's, clothing to pack, restaurants, etc.
