Sorry this took so long to get back to you but I was traveling from Florida
back home to California.
Have you checked for him in the 1920 and 1930 federal censuses? That is
where I would start. Also try the directories for same city where he lived
with his wife before he left.. She listed herself as a widow, but he may
also be listed. Look for a number of years, he may show up a couple of
years after he left his wife.
My problem is now that how do I find out what happened to him if this is
