I am sorry, you are having so much trouble looking up your records. I
belong to Ancestry and find it easier to use than it was a few years ago.
However, I could not find my father's recruitment record. I was with him
when he signed up for the Navy Seebees at the Fordam Rd (New York City,
Bronx) recruitment station in 1944-45. It was a traumatic day, he was to go
in as soon as my youngest sister was born in April 1945. Luckily the war
was over by then and he didn't have to go but I have his draft card and was
surprised I couldn't find his record on Ancestry.
