I agree with all of you about the conversations about ancestry. And I live
ten minutes away from it. I got sick of every site being connected with it,
also. I also live across from Brigham Young University, where I can get it
for free. But I am involved in a big research project, so I broke down and
decided to get a subscription. I pay monthly, which is a bit more than
paying the entire price, but it isn't too bad. As a result I have tracked
down alot of families and other info I needed.. So, my anger over their
domination of the genealogical world, has been overrided by how helpful this
subscription has been to me. I think if you call them, you could get rid of
a subscription. They are located in Orem, Utah. I called them about a
problem I was having on a rootsweb mailing list, where I was being
harrassed, and the lady I talked to spent alot of time trying to help me.
