Hi Clare. I had a few thoughts on your dilemma re: Catherine Roach Keyes
(Hays). The maiden name provided on the marriage cert. may not have come
from the daughter herself. If someone else provided that info, than maybe
Roach isn't really Catherine's maiden name. I've found errors on a couple of
certs. that I have. I don't know what time frame you're dealing with but
have you tied Catherine to a Roach family in any census? As far as the
cemetery records go, could it be possible that the plot was owned by 'Hays'?
Could Catherine have been married to a 'Hays' before her marriage to
'Keyes'? Probably none of this is going to help you, but I thought I'd toss
it out there anyway. Terry in Mich.
