Hello all...this is my first posting to the mailing list. Hopefully
someone can help me out!

I am searching for military service info on Frank Crandall AMES and
Jefferson AMES. Frank was my GGG Grandfather, and Jefferson was his
brother. They were both listed in the 1900 Census of Stamford, Delaware
County, NY. Frank was born in 1841, Jeff in 1847. They were both
veterans of the Civil War. I wrote to the NARA asking for pension
records for both of them, but the response was that no records existed.
But I know that they were both in the war because I have pictures of
Frank in his uniform (one pin on his uniform was from the John Logan VFW
Post)....and in Jefferson's obit, it states that he was a veteran.

Does anyone have any information on these Ames boys? Or know where I
can look?
