Hi,
Need your help in locating my great grandfather(Archibald McDonald) in the
Civil War.According to the 1890 Survivors Census Schedule(Michigan), Archie
was a private in Co.K of the 22 NY Calvary from July 1861 to August 1864. The
22nd wasn't mustered in 'till 1863!
I've located many Archibald McDonalds from the state of New York. Have
eliminated all but this one:
Archibald McDonald.....enlisted on 10/12/1861 at Ogdensberg at the age
of 21.
He was immediately mustered in Co. K
of the NY 18th
Infantry. Mustered out at Albany on
5/28/63
My Archie was born in Jan 1840 in Ontario, Canada. Moved to the Ogdensberg
area as a young boy.
Anybody have info on the above Archie of the 18th Infantry especially
birthplace.
Thanks,
Don
