Can anyone on this list help me with Elias Peissner, a Colonel in the 119th
NY Volunteer Infantry, killed at Chancellorsville, 2 May 1863.
Elias was a cousin of mine three times removed. I know of his parents --
Jakob and Barbara Kotzbauer Peissner -- and birth, 5 September 1825; that he
arrived in the US in 1849, was a professor at Union College, Schenectady in
1852, and married in 1856.
Perhaps the 1860 NY Census will provide more details of his life here. Also,
I'd appreciate knowing where he is buried. Thanks for any help. Robert
