Hi Barb----Thank-you for the response---I have little more than what I
posted---the mothers name could have been Esther Goldberg---her maiden
name would then be Aparto---they were Jewish---I believe they lived in
the Bronx---the aunt who picked them up from the first orphanage was
Pauline Jager---in the 1920 census there is an Edith Goldberg 18 years
old---listed as being the niece of Pauline Jager---She was also called
Ada---it seems her brother Abraham Goldberg stayed at the second
orphanage he was taken to--- until he turned 18---is there a separate
census for orphanages?---and where would I obtain a list of orphanages
in the Bronx area at that time?---it's a good possibility the orphanage
was Jewish---is it possible to obtain records from the orphanages?---I
don't know where to start and will appreciate any help
Thank-you
Edie
