You probably will have to find the date of his death off-line, and then order the record. Have you searched Brooklyn City Directories, to narrow down his date of death?

I have just searched the America's Obituaries & Death Notices site (I have access through my library) in all of the NY papers for McMorland -- no results. Unfortunately they only have the NY Times for the year 2000 to the present.
