Subject: [NY-TROY-IRISH-GENSOC] SULLIVAN of Troy

I am looking for a miracle. My great-grandmother's sister, Mary Sullivan, migrated to the United States in about 1878. She was from Adrigole on the Beara Peninsula (County Cork). Mary married John J Sullivan in Granville NY in 1884, but before 1884, Mary was likely in Troy. I have two excerpts from Granville NY newspapers:

February 8, 1917 - Mrs John J McDonough, of West Pawlet, VT is a SULLIVAN of near Troy or Albany, NY. She has a sister, Mrs William Berrigan, of Granville, who died at Ossining, NY.

John J McDonough's obituary: He was married to Mary Sullivan of Troy

Mary may have been living with an aunt - Julia Sullivan.

Any suggestions? I know its a VERY common name and that Troy was a big place.

Thanks
