RE: New Catholic Ground, Troy. Our first Conolly's to be buried in Troy were, according to my gr gr grandfather's journal, buried in the "new catholic burying ground", which was in 1847, one of the earliest burials in what is now St. Mary's Cemetery. I am not sure this is the same, as your date are ten years later, but it is common for a cemetery to be referred as the "old" or "new" burying ground. My gr gr grandfather Conolly/Connolly, by the way, married Mary Ann "Carey." Are your Careys, from Galway? If you have Sullivan links to the Careys - then we are related somewhere along the tree. Lee

Hi Lynn. I'm a little late catching up with my emails, and I don't see any
replies on-List to your question. My guess (and only a guess) would be she
was buried in what was soon to become an official Catholic
cemetery...perhaps St. Agnes in Cohoes, or St. Agnes in Menands. Have you
considered writing to, or calling the Diocese office in Menands? They hold
the records for old Parishes and cemeteries. They might be able to help
you, seeing that you have the date of death. Where did you find this record?
