Jim,
I have been to the Albany County Hall of Records, and I can tell you for a
fact that they were some of the nicest, most helpful people I came across
during my trip. I was totally impressed with their attention and interest in
what you were looking for, and their ideas on possible alternative sources.
Very impressive group.
On the other hand, I have visited the Oswego County Clerks office (6-7 years
ago) and couldn't have been treated more rudely. After asking for assistance,
I was told that they didn't have time for "you people" and was promptly
ignored from that moment on. Very unimpressive group.
But, the Albany Hall of Records - aces all the way!
