A map of Albany I have shows that Normanskill Creek forms the southern
border of the city of Albany and separates Albany from the Town of
Bethlehem. The creek runs west to east and empties into the Hudson
River.
West of Albany the creek continues on through the towns of Bethlehem, New
Scotland and Guilderland. I'm not sure where it goes before that.
The creek was named after a man who was called "The Norman". If I
remember correctly, he wasn't Dutch like most of the settlers in the area
were. Possibly he was from Norway.
