Thank you for a "terrific clue!" Yes, we have thought that the reason
the countries changed was because the boundaries may have changed. But
we have yet to find just where (town) they were from, so we don't know
what the borders were.
We have gone to Vital Stats in Albany to try to get a death cert for
Andrew. No luck. We have his date of death & that he died in Albany in
1965. I've given them as many of the variants of his name as I can
think of. We know where he is buried; in fact, that's where we saw his
name spelled other than Anderson (on the index card).
We will find it some day, after some stumbling around. But it's a very
interesting journey.
PS - My husband, who grew up in Loudonville, loved all the stories about
the Albany streets. Hope to see more!
