Subject: [NYALBANY-L] Cowles, Cowle, Cowel, and/or Cowell of Westerlo (early 1800's)

John Cowell (sometimes spelled Cowel) married Rebecca Northrup and lived on
part of lot 40, West Rensselaer Manor (Rensselaerville, then Lamb's Corners
area of Westerlo). There was also a Benjamin Cowle (again, various
spellings) and Benjamin Cowles, Jr. in the same area. Does anyone know the
connection between and/or the origins of these men. In 1801, Abigail Cowell
married Truman Ingalls. The Ingalls Genealogy says that she was a daughter
of John and Rebecca. Were there other children? The Ingalls lived in
adjoining Norton Hill, Green County. Would like to correspond with anyone
having any interest in any family in this area from earliest times. Thanks.
