Came into this mid-way, I guess. Where can I find 'the page' everyone is
talking about? I attended BK and had a Mrs. Nettie Filkins in 6th grade.
I also was a teen up on 'the Hill.'

I would be interested in who to contact in regards to who is buried in the
"Filkins Hill Cemetery" on Filkins Hill in Berne, NY. I understand that
Richard Filkin (1781-1841) is buried there as he used to own the property.
His wife, Catherine Engle (Ingle, Angle) and he had a rather large family
that they raised there. There are other burials there I am told, and would
like to know who and the inscriptions on the gravestones, if they are still
in existence. Is there a building still there......is it now a shopping
mall?????? Anything about the Hill would be of interest to me.

Also, same family, a few generations later. Elmer Filkins (abt. 187?-???),
his wife, Elizabeth Jones, and their infant daughter are buried in the New
Scotland Pres. Cemetery behind the church there. Also in the same plot is
my grandmother, Beatrice Filkins Heim (1906-1965), her sister Cele and
husband Ray Gerhardt. I do not remember who else is there as it has been
over 30 years since I was there as a teen., but I know there were others.
Would like to know anything of the inscriptions here, other headstones, or
where I could get the information.

I love all the cemetery work that Betty has on her page. THANK YOU , BETTY.
As a matter of fact, it is in my favorites, as I keep coming back to it.
There was some information that I did need that was found in her site. Oh,
I keep wishing for the above named cemeteries to be posted somewhere.

Any help or suggestions appreciated.
