Two good things to note are
1. This badtrans virus may be highly contagious, but it is not malicious-it
doesn't damage your hard drive or ruin files. We have 3 computers at home
networked and the others didn't get it, since it travels through emails.

2. If you have Norton you won't get it, I guess McAfee is ok, too, but my
sources say Norton is the best.

As long as you are using an antivirus package, I see no reason to disable
Javascript. I would just make sure Norton is set to delete the viruses. I
guess my caution to all is I assumed that email lists have anti virus
packages that make listers safe, but whenever there is an attachment you
should stay careful and don't automatically click on it. The email looked
like a response to my query and my guard was down. It had all my info on it,
so I forgot to be wary of the attachment. I hope I didn't inadvertently
inflict damage on others because an unopened email from NYALBANY was in my
mail that day. I am only trying to ensure others learn from my error.

WHEW! That was a pain in the neck, but I learned a valuable lesson. Now back
to genealogy...
Anyone connected with NICHOLAS BOODY or family, of Steuben, Danube, Minden
area please reply!! I can't find any traces of this guy prior to 1799.
