Subject: [NYALBANY] Plain Street, Albany 1910

I searched the city directories for 1910 and found my g-grandfather living on #6 PLAIN STREET in Albany. I then tried to find the family in the 1910 census. I did a search for Plain Street in MapQuest to find out approximately where the street was located so I could narrow down my search in the 1910 census and found that Plain Street does not exist anymore. But, I was lucky (almost). Through hours of searching almost every census sheet in Albany I was able to find Plain Street in District 25, 5th Ward. The problem is - the house numbers start at #7 and I need #6. I am getting so frustrated. Does anyone know if the houses numbered 1 through 6 were located in a different Ward or District than the rest of the street? I even read every last name just in case the city directory made an error. I can not find my g-grandfather's family. His name was Luke Cranney. He should have three sons living with him then (William J., Ralph P. and Robert F.). The city directory showed that he !
separated from his wife Margaret in 1907. I did find Margaret living in Watervliet (as Head) but just her four daughters were living with her. One of the sons, Robert Francis Cranney, was my grandfather. He was born in 1901 so he doesn't show up in the 1900 census and, for some reason, is not in the 1920 census. That is why the 1910 census is so important.
If anyone knows where I can find #6 Plain Street in Albany please, could you help me? I do have access to the 1910 census records through Ancestry.com but they are not indexed.

Thank you very much
Ginger

P.S. I also have access to the 1920 census which is indexed so if anyone needs a look up I'll be glad to do it. I will need the name and state the person lived in.
