Hello list,

Im new to this list and am hoping someone has a connection to my
FITZGERALD family in Albany and Watervliet. The earliest generation I
have is my Grt-grandfather JAMES G. FITZGERALD (1834? - 1907) who
had a sister JOHANNA FITZGERALD who died in Albany in 1922. He may
also have had a widowed sister MARY ANN DWYER (born Albany, 1832,
died 14 October 1904 at his home). All three were born in Albany, but
James G. moved to Watervliet about 1872.

The wife of James G. Fitzgerald was CATHERINE MCKINNEY (born in
Schenectady, NY, 1835/6, died 19 January 1910 ). I have obituaries for
WILLIAM B. MCKINNEY and JOHN S. MCKINNEY. Im guessing one may
have been her father.

No. 90, Grand Army of the Republic, Schenectady, Oct. 11, 1894 Special
Order No. 1
The officers and members of Horsfall Post No. 90, G. A. R., are hereby
ordered to report to their headquarters, Van Horne hall, Friday, October 12,
at 1:30 oclock p.m., in full G. A. R. uniform, for the purpose of attending
the funeral of our deceased comrade, William H. McKinney

The funeral of the late John S. McKinney, of the American express
company, new York city, was held from St. Johns church, this afternoon,
the remains having arrived here at two oclock. The attendance was large,
many being present from Jersey City. the interment was made in St.
Johns cemetery. The deceased was a graduate of Union college in the
class of 1848, being a class mate of the recently deceased ex-President
Arthur. [C. A. Arthur died in 1886]
