Hi Ernie,
It's good to hear from you again. Lucy was married to Luke the elder. I think she moved in with her son John Cranney on Livingston Ave in 1928. She would not have been able to live alone. She was 88 yrs old and died two years later. That's why I'm wondering if the Luke who died was the elder Luke. But - The Luke G. that lived there in 1920-21 would have been the younger one. The older Luke shows up in the 1920 census as living in Bethlehem but the younger Luke doesn't show up at all. He abandoned his family around 1908 and his children were put in St. Vincent's Orphanage - that's why I was surprised to see him in the 1920-21 directory.

Hi Regina,
In the 1928 Directory, Lucy, widow of Luke was living at 139 Livingston Ave.
Also living there was John, a telephone operator. The question is, was Lucy
married to Jr or Sr.

through 1924?
> I have not written to this list for quite a while but I really need help
right now. I searched the 1920-21 Albany City Directory at the library and
found a LUKE G. CRANNEY living at 139 Livingston Ave. Anyway, that's what I
wrote in my notes. I think I might have made an error. I also have in my
notes that, according to the 1924 directory, Luke Cranney died July 2nd
1923. My problem is this: Luke G. Cranney came up missing after 1914 but his
father, Luke Cranney was still living in Bethlehem, NY. I can't figure out
if the Luke that died was my g-grandfather Luke G. or my g-g-grandfather
Luke from Bethlehem. The Luke that died had an address of 139 Livingston Ave
AT THE TIME OF HIS DEATH but I "assumed" it was the elder Luke. Now I'm not
so sure.
> Could someone check to see if it was actually LUKE G. CRANNEY that lived
on Livingston Ave in 1920-21? Also, did the 1924 directory give any other
information about the Luke Cranney that died.
> I really appreciate any help I can get. I can repay the favor if you
need someone looked up in any of the census records. I have both
Genealogy.com and Ancestry.com census records.
