Stephensville was Alcove according to Giddings in the book, Coeymans and the
Past.
Giddings gives some of the names of the settlers.
"The hamlet had 10 or 12 dwellings, a store, wagon and blacksmith shops, two
other stone buildings besides the mill, a building used as a flax mill,
Union Church, and one physician."
I don't know what denomination Union Church was, but if it was there the
people in that area probably used it.
You probably already know that there aren't very many church records that
survived from that area.
