Hi, All

This message about Green Island is correct about where Green Island is
located. It was an island in the Hudson River; I think that now it isn't an
island any longer, that it's become part of the mainland on the west side of
the river. It is indeed closely associated with Troy, and Troy City
Directories for some decades included a subsection on Green Island. So I can
see why you would think that Green Island might be part of the City of Troy.

HOWEVER, Green Island is in ALBANY County, NY, whereas Troy is in Rensselaer
County, NY. If you visit the Rensselaer Co NY GenWeb site (the website
address is below), you'll find lots about Troy and other locations in
Rensselaer Co NY, but to find Green Island records you'll need to go to the
Albany Co NY GenWeb, at

http://www.rootsweb.com/~nyalbany/

Sorry we couldn't help you with Green Island at the Rensselaer Co NY GenWeb
site this time! Maybe next time? You are all welcome to visit!

Good luck!
