Bailey.
The National Archives is supposed to have film for Postmasters however I
haven't tracked it down as I am fearful that for me it would be of little
help for a man who died in 1850. You might want to see if there is a City
Directory for that time period. Often profession is listed and it is not
trying to read handwriting.
