Nope - it was definitely an electrical or static shock. Must have been the
latter I think. We had a bad storm the night be fore and we had turned of
the 'puter. Only time that I do turn it off. And the next day I turned it
on, was getting errors, so rebooted and that was it... wouldn't boot up
windows again. Fortunately I have a computer geek friend who keeps my
puters running and he said there was a big burn mark across the hard drive.
I'm fortunate that none of the other hardware was damaged. I'm basically
got a new computer again. God bless the computer geeks, is all I can say.

Now that's mean. But their idea wouldn't work. RootsWeb has a filter to
screen out the Happy virus so no one on the lists will ever get it. The
listowner would get it attached to anything sent to request address, but now
one else would and I think most listowners are up to speed on this one...
they should be, we have discussed it enough on Listowners-L and Newbie
Listowners enough.

I thought everyone was pretty much aware of Happy.exe by now,

That's right. Just sends out little email clones. I did get them about
once a week for a while, then once a month. Been quite a while since I've
seen them. Used to have a bookmark to download a little program to clean
off the virus if you were infected.

Thanks for updating your email and screen name. I'll put you back on the
buddy list. Everything needed cleaning out any way, I guess.
