At a special session of the Allegany Co. Board of Supervisors held at Belmont
Tuesday evening B J Rice of this viillage was chosen for the position of
County Superintendent of Roads. At a Civil Service Exam held recently Mr Rice
stood third and from the contestants was selected.

Mr and Mrs rR C Almy will move into the Clark house next door above the Army
store in thewest end of town. The house vacated by Mr. Almy will be occupied
by Mr and Mrs H B Smith.

The Congregational ladies are deservinng much praise for the supper served
for the small sum of 15 cents last Thursday They were well worth 25 cents at the
least.

Rev. J W Sanborn recently tried one of the Civil Service Exams of this state
and has just received notice from the Commission that the examination was
sucessful and that he is therefor placed in the elgible list subject to
appointment as vacancy occurs.
