To my fellow researchers. I was looking through my PC "trash mail" when
I found a GEM. A brief note with the location of a roll of honour for
war related commonwealth deaths. Thank you Shirley Elrich. The magnitude
of feeling the page brought up was astounding.

First I must thank the people and government who wrote and worked on
the, "COMMONWEALTH WAR GRAVES COMMISSION: DEBT OF HONOR REGISTERY".
It has made me even more aware of my freedom and proud of my heritage.
Within the web page are names of some 1.7 million persons killed in
action in WWI and WWII. There are a few civilians listed also.

The individual entry lists; name (click on name and you get info on
action of group, and location and addresss of cemetary); rank, Regiment,
Date of Death.

Since my family line is mainly WICKS I looked over the list of 269
records of honored dead. How many are from my family line I may never
know. I would like to request WICKS researchers to contact me so that
we may identify these men and women if at all possible. I have not run
across a footnote or other indication that any family member was lost in
a war.

The web address is: cwgc.org Since the page has volume some of the
pages will take up to 3 minutes to load. The third page is a memorial
stone inscribed, " Their Names Liveth Forever". As genealogists we are
faced with some dead ends which end with extreme honor. I hope this is
helpful to some of my fellow searchers. Please pardon the length of this
entry.
