HI...
Does nayone have any information about Swedish Lutheran Churches in the
Atlantic Avenue area in the 1870's to 1905 period. My great grandfather,
Carl (Charles) Norling came here, I believe, in 1879. His wife, Carolina
Gustafina Remaine (not sure of spelling) came around the same time. Believe
they were married in Brooklyn, and a safe assumption is that they were
married in B'klyn. Carl/Charles was born in Sweden in 1859-1861 and died at
St. John's Hospital in B'klyn on 12 Sept., 1897 of "heart failure". His
wife, Carolina (also known as Lena) was born 11 August, 1862, in Sweden, and
died on 16 Sept., 1905 at 30 McKibben Street, Brooklyn (family history says
TB). My grandmother, Liliana Josefina Norling, was subsequently put on an
orphan train to Ohio/Pennsylvania with her sister Tillie (Mathilde). Any
help appreciated.
Lynn
