Dear Ed,
I do not know who you were directing your mail to since you did not
address it to anyone or include the message you were applying to.
Your opinion is yours. I for one like to see at least part of what a
message is applying to since I get hundreds of emails during a day
and can not possibly remember every single one. In addition, we
have many new people joining our list to which we all must show
tolerance for. Calling them lazy or putting them down for being a
beginner is not going to help.
We are supposed to be here to help each other and not cut each
other up. Each of us has our own preferences and our own delete
key to exercise if something is not to our liking. I have been on
this list since it began many moons ago. I do not want to see a
newcomer afraid to submit to this list because of your comments.

May we all have success in our endeavours!!

I have a request of you and this applies to thousands of others just
like you, but in your case is inexcusable seeing you see to know
what
to do with a computer. When you subscribe in "L" Letter mode,
would
you refrain from responding to an email from the list by simply
hitting the REPLY button?!!! The rest of us don't need to read your
email and the COMPLETE email of the person whose email was on
your
computer screen when you decided to respond!!! Save all the
addresses
of all the genealogical mailing lists you belong to in an address
book
on your browser like you would do for your friends and family, it
isn't hard to do and helps to avoid you looking lazy or a "I didn't
know better beginner".

By the way what you had to say was okay.
