Miliss, I am sorry to hear about your virus problem. This doesn't have much
to do with you origional question but some advice. If you have a CD burner
(or if not, would suggest buying one, they are very reasonable now). Burn
the FTM file that you use onto the CD. That way you will alway have a backup
copy OFF of your computer. Depending on the size of your FTM file, you can
store this file up to 100X or more on one CD. Every time you update a large
amount of info, back it up on CD. I have over 12,000 names in my FTM file
and if I lost it I would be devestated because there is almost 15 years of
research there. The only thing is you will have to remane the file every
backup, ex: xxx1.ftm, xxx2.ftm, etc. I realise 20/20 hindsite and such but
just a suggestion. Also invest in a good antivirus and update it every week.
Also most good CD burner programs (Roxio for example) will allow you to back
up your hard drive on CD. Just a though.
