A shellback is anyone that crosses the equator. You are not required
to be in the U.S.Navy.


The title of Golden Shellback is bestowed on anyone crossing the
International Date Line.

The title of Emerald Shellback is bestowed on anyone crossing the Equator.

In both cases the individuals are given certificates.
