Hello -
For those interested in finding their ancestors using ship's passenger's
lists, I strongly urge you to consider getting the book, "They Came In
Ships" by John Philip Colletta, Ph.D. It is a guide to finding your
immigrant ancestor's arrival record and is broken down:
Introduction: What Passenger Lists Tell You About Your Ancestors.
Chapter 1: What You Need to Know and Where to Find it.
Chapter 2: Passenger Lists of 1565 - 1819
Chapter 3: Passenger Lists of 1820 - 1954
Chapter 4: Searching in Unindexed Years
"They Came In Ships" is a how-to-do concise manual containing about 91
pages. I obtained a copy from an interlibrary load arrangement since I do
not live near any large libraries.
Thank You
Renee (Skehan) Bien
