Subject: [Bklyn] update on Bklyn Info Page
Date: Sat, 2 Feb 2002 12:01:10 EST
Hello Brooklynites!
Just want to update eveyone on a few things.
Because of the enormous information being submitted by tanscribers, the
majority of these transcriptions will be placed directly to the Info Page
without going thru the list.
Some of you will love this (stops ur mail from bouncing because ur email box
is full).
If u have a specific and cannot find where it might be please don't hesitate
to email me and ask.

Schools for 1916 Jan. are now complete. Some of them have class pictures.
1906 r coming in now.
Marions Directories are also updated at least once a week, usually by Friday.
The 1897 Directory Project of Nancy C. is also moving along. I know she will
be taking a break soon as she is moving but Im sure she'll keep us abreast of
what's happening with the progress.
I have a few new maps going up this week. Manhattan & Brooklyn.
If u would like to transcribe please email me and I will gladly give u the
info.
The Brooklyn Info Page is set up to find what u r lookingfor as easily as
possible.
The main sections will bring youto the various years and info abt the subject.
NEWSPAPERS is one of the most active. The transcriptions that come in are
placed in their subject headings and listed by years.
These subjects include
VariousNewspapers
Marriage Licenses
School Graduates
Deaths
CourtNews
News Articles/Jottings pertaining to certain years. etc
NOTE: NOT everything is cross-referenced. If ur searching for a marriage look
under MARRIAGE on the main Page and in NEWSPAPERS.
Also check the CENSUS for Marriage listings.
CENSUS will contain not only actual Census materials but hints and help for
searchingthe census, using eds & Maps.
The bottom line is search everything!!
I am always available to help.
Nancy
