ST. JAMES' ACADEMY GRADUATES FIFTEEN
Sixty-ninth Annual Closing Exercises Are Held in Auditorium
HONOR ROLL IS ANNOUNCED
Students Successfully Present College Playlet

The sixty-ninth annual closing exercises of St. James Academy were held
last night at St. James Auditorium in Jay Street, with Mgr. Francis J.
O'HARA, pastor of the Pro-Cathedral, presiding. Following an elaborate
programme a class of fifteen young men was graduated. Ex-Justice Luke D.
STAPLETON addressed the graduates of the pioneer parochial school of Brooklyn
and pointed out the paramount necessity of united Catholic effort to stem the
tide of irreligion and infidelity that overflows the country today and to
establish an ideal.
Brother Austin is director of the Academy and, since his arrival last
September, has given his entire time and effort to the work. On the night of
Feb. 3 the graduates of old St. James assembled for the first time in the
history of the academy at their initial alumni banquet at the Elks Club.
