KILL MATE, HE CONFESSES
Wallace GRAHAM, former navy electrician, visited the homes of several friends
here Sunday,calmly announcing at each place, ' I Have killed Jeannette'.
Nobody believed him.
A few hours later the mother of his two children was found mortally wounded
on Hill street.She was pronounced dead on arrival at the hospital. Then
GRAHAM disappeared. He was arrested later in Charlestown and charged with
murder.
It was said that he had waylaid his wife early yesterday and, after firing
six shots
at her,left her to die by the roadside.

SLAIN IN STROLL,WITH PAL'S WIFE
Romeo ROBINSON,48, colored,paid with his life today for a walk he is said
tooo have taken yesterday with a friends wife, ROBINSON,whose home was at 253
Chauncey street, succumbed at St.Mary's Hospital from stab wounds said to
have been administered by Louis SPARROW,40 also colored,of 1641 Atlantic
avenue.
The victims death occurred while SPARROW was being arraigned at the Gates
avenue police court on a charge of felonious assault. When the report was
telephoned to the court the charges was changed to homicide,and SPARROW
was held without bail.

TWO DROWN ON MARDI GRAS EVE
On the eve of Coney Island's annual jamboree,the Mardi Gras,a crowd
estimated at more than 500,000 flocked to the resort yesterday.The bathing
pavilions were reported to have had one of the busiest days of the season. Of
the multitudes whoo sought a refreshing dip in the surf,two young men were
reported drown.
One of them Edward ROTHENBERG,19,of 2047 Eighty-first street,Bensonhurst.
According to the police, he dived from the docks at the foot of West
Thirty-fifth street into shallow water.His head struck the bottom and it is
believed his nervous system was paralyzed. Ambulance Surgeon LANDMAN,of Coney
Island Hospital,
heroic efforts to revive him.When he did not respond after an hours treatment
he was pronounced dead.
The other victim was David DWORKIN,19,of 621 Lefferts avenue.He was drowned
while bathing off the foot of West Twenty-first street. Municipal Life Guards
Ray GALLAGHER and Michael NEEDLEMAN,who recovered his body,after bathers saw
him sink and notified them.
A third 19 year old youth,Louis DEAULO,of 227 West 112th
street,Manhattan,had a narrow escape from drowning.He went beyond his depth
while bathing off the foot of Stillwell avenue,and was rescued by Municipal
Life Guard Burroughs. He was revived by Ambulance Suregon LANDMAN and left
for home.
